AWS VS Azure VS Google – Cloud Comparison

AWS, Azure, and Google are the most popular companies or platforms for cloud computing. All three companies offer a wide range of features, including big data in the cloud, server-less computing options, etc. However, these platforms offer different services, meaning you have to choose a platform based on your cloud requirements.

The question is: what separates these three big players in the cloud computing industry? In today’s article, we will give you an unbiased comparison of AWS, Azure, and Google. The purpose is to help you choose the right platform for your company’s infrastructure requirements. Read on!

AWS vs. Azure vs. Google – Comparison

Because cloud marketing is evolving faster, there is an ever-changing set of cloud and big data services. Although this makes the comparison a bit challenging, Clovertex believes it is worth the attempt because these three platforms have different and unequal offerings.

Besides, big data in the cloud is a market area where Google’s colossal experience in search has many synergies. However, AWS and Azure make substantial efforts to provide value to startup companies. Here is everything you need to know!

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Amazon Web Services or AWS offers a wide range of big data and cloud services. For instance, Amazon Elastic MapReduce runs Spark and Hadoop while Kinesis Streams and Kinesis Firehose can stream large data sets into amazon web services.

You can use Redshift to store data, a petabyte-scale warehouse for data storage that offers unique data compression capabilities to reduce costs. Likewise, Amazon Elastic-search is an essential service that deploys the open-source search tool in AWS, allowing you to perform data analytics, including click-through and log monitoring.

Moreover, AWS offers a larger set of data storage choices than Google. Besides the substantial AWS storage service farm, it also provides a low latency NoSQL database, DynamoDB, and DynamoDB for Titan, providing storage for the Titan graph database. AWS also offers relational databases, such as Apache HBase, which is an effective NoSQL database with petabyte-scale capabilities.

Microsoft Azure

Azure is an excellent cloud platform for data analytics. It offers Data Lake Analytics that uses SQL, U-SQL, C++, and a Hadoop-based service known as HDInsight. Azure also has a Stream Analytics service that you can use to identify data assets via a global metadata system.

Moreover, Azure offers Data Factory that allows you to interlink on-premises and cloud data sources, leading to data pipeline management. Azure’s big data storage services include Data Lake Store, a Hadoop-based file system that offers a wide range of unique features.

Similarly, Microsoft Azure has a large and diverse set of storage offerings, such as SQL, STORSIMPLE, and NoSQL databases. One of the primary reasons companies use Azure is its Power BI and machine learning, which lines up with AWS and IoT Hub features. Azure also has a search engine and offers Cortana Suite that provides you with more advanced intelligence capabilities.

Google

Unlike other cloud platforms, Google offers Big-Query data services that use a SQL-like interface, allowing users to streamline their cloud operations. It is an easy-to-use cloud platform for beginners and advanced users. Not only does Google supports the petabyte database, but it can also carry out data streaming at 100,000 rows per second.

Google cloud services also support geographic replication, allowing users to select a data storage location. It is a pay-as-you-go service without a dedicated instances infrastructure, allowing the company to use many processors to maintain adequate and fast query times. Google offers integration support with Pig, Hive, Hadoop, and Spark.

Other cloud-based and big data services offered by Google include Cloud Big Table, Cloud Data Store, Cloud Machine Learning, translators, and speech convertors. If you don’t know how to choose the right cloud platform that aligns with your requirements, contact Clovertex today!
